2024 - 2025 Early Birds Learning Hour

The Old Greenwich PTA is pleased to offer Early Birds Learning Hour to all students of Old Greenwich School in grades K-5. This program provides a safe, fun environment for children prior to the start of the school day with a variety of activities. Children meet in the media center and are instructed and supervised by Old Greenwich School faculty and staff. This is a great program for parents with busy mornings or students with a sibling attending another morning program (orchestra/band, Wordmasters, morning math, etc.).

DETAILS:

Meets Monday through Friday in the media center. Drop off is ANYTIME between 7:30am to 8:30 am beginning on the second day of school (September 3, 2024) and continuing on all days that school is in session.  There is no Early Birds with a delayed school start.

❖ Session 1: Tuesday, September 3th - Friday, January 17th

❖ Session 2: Tuesday, January 21st - Last day of school (June 23rd with 5 snow days)


Participation in the program may either be through registration for the entire session for 1 to 5 days per week or on a drop-in basis.

  • 5 days per week $580/session

  • 4 days per week $465/session

  • 3 days per week $380/session

  • 2 days per week $255/session

  • 1 day per week $130/session

or

  • Drop in $10/day for 1st child, $5/additional sibling for same day in addition to a $10 annual family registration fee

You must submit waiver, registration forms and session fee before attending the program on the PTA Membership Toolkit.

MEDICAL PROCEDURES AND NOTICES:

Please note that the school nurse is not on duty during the hours Early Birds Learning operates. It is the responsibility of the monitor supervising the Early Birds program to handle any medical emergency.  A first aid kit is available for use by the supervisor.   Please note it is your responsibility to convey any special medical information (severe food allergies, asthma, etc.) about your child to the program monitors as this information is considered confidential and therefore cannot be passed on by the school.  A line is provided on the registration form for this information, and the information is kept confidential by the monitors. If your child is sick, he/she should not be sent to the Early Birds Learning Hour.  You should follow the same guidelines for keeping your child at home as outlined in the school handbook.
