New Families
OGS PTA Welcomes You to Old Greenwich School
The New Families Committee at the Old Greenwich School would like to extend a warm welcome to our school community.
Our committee is in charge of welcoming all families who re-located to Old Greenwich School and to those families whose child(ren) is starting Old Greenwich School for the first time, after having attended an elementary school elsewhere.
We hold several events throughout the year to welcome each new family and aid transition into the school community. There is a fall and spring coffee, a parent cocktail night, a moms night out and some other events. Once we receive your email, you will automatically be invited to these events.
Make sure to register for Membership Toolkit and email us your email address, so you will be added to the distribution list to receive the weekly newsletter “Between the Waves”. This is the schools main communication vehicle, also referred to as the BTW. It goes out via email every Friday. The BTW is a must read as it highlights everything that goes on at school.
If you’d like, we will include you in our Buddy Family program. Each new family has the opportunity to be paired with another OGS family, based on their children’s age, gender, and class. Your buddy family will organize a play date for the kids and will be a friendly face for you who can answer questions and assist in any way. We hope this helps you with moving to a new school.
The members of the New Families Committee have children of all ages and have experienced every grade; do not hesitate to ask us any questions about school or the town, we feel pretty knowledgeable!
The committee email address is: OGSNewFamilies@gmail.com. One of us will respond to your email asap.
For more information click on the New Family Resource Guide tab on the left side of this page. This will give you more information regarding school, kids’ activities, and other resources that hopefully will make your transition as smooth as possible.
